Just because I blog, doesn’t mean I’m a trainspotter but perhaps it’s seeping into my existence. Only a month ago I took a steam train up to Corfe Castle and loved it. And then we got invited to see Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends.

We popped in to see at the Vue Leicester Square today and it was pretty good. Although the wisdom of giving all the children whistles to below pre 10am is beyond me. That said, after a long wait and a few hellos from the Fat Controller and a magician the show was on and it works on the big screen. We bumped into Potty Mummy and her family among the mayhem of the after party.
I was really pleased that the National Austistic Society was being supported and we made a donation. I used to go to screenings at the Odeon in Ealing when I was a kid as my parents were active charity campaigners so it’s nice to see the tradition continue. I was a bit worried that the film would be a bit too childish. While I enjoyed it (yes, total child at heart) Miniminx actually sat and wrote her own review of the film, so watch out world…a critic is honing her skills, and she’s only 9.

We headed to China Town which is always gorgeous and preparations for a festival were underway so we stopped for lunch.
And I did do a double take at this restaurant – as it was very reminiscent of the Butterfly Jungle I mentioned in a previous post.

We always love sweet shopping in China Town – Miniminx spotted this box on the shelf.
And gazed longingly at this lot, we bought a box or two.

Then we wandered around and went home to enjoy the rest of the September sunshine.
