Hmmm, I missed all this in the media earlier today – because I was WORKING! But I was working for the first time in 2 months, I used to work full-time, now it’s casual part-time. SO how do I decipher from this research what effect my employment will have on my daughter? I choose to decipher that it’s really not very useful information. As many have pointed out, those of us who try to feed their kids a healthy, balanced diet will do so whether we work or not. P.s researchers, Mums are not the only parents…

I’ve worked with survey companies for many years and it’s hard to get something valuable. The best ones are never released to the media. I’m still keen to do some digging around on the background of the topic though. I’m just chuffed to bits to see all the responses out there – never seen anything like it before, it’s a benchmark x

Great post – I also chop bloody carrots and cucumber and pepper and make the healthiest lunches I have ever seen for my girls as I am overweight and determined to “break the chain” where they are concerned. There will be another survey along before you know it – having a go at stay at home mums for something contradictory. Nobody has ever “surveyed” me – the “best” surveys are those Ben Goldacre reports in his book where a PR team asks their mates!

It really has had an effect on us all, who knows why the research was carried out. I’d like to see the raw data myself because it has been put through several wringers as I know how research companies can mangle and manipulate data. Glad we all seem to be in agreement tho x

This report made me angry – what was the point in the research being carried out? I don’t see what its conclusions have achieved other than being another stick for the media to beat mothers with. I agree with Potty Mummy, there are good and bad mothers but that’s nothing to do with whether they work or not.
