The life and times of a happy go lucky blogger in London
breakfast at tiffany's and dinner at the ivy
Categories: blogging mums

I’ve never been to The Ivy – so forgive me for being so gauche – but I’ve managed to snag a table for dinner tomorrow evening- it’s the 5.30 shift so I hope I don’t have to prep the food myself – it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve helped out in the kitchens. I suppose it’s like going to the hottest yet coolest holiday destination when it’s completely out of season. But that’s the great thing about it – it’s pre-theatre, so it suits me perfectly.

I did recall this great scene from Extras as I made the booking.

I’m looking forward to the show. I’ve been planning to go since it was first announced and unlike most people, I’m happy to see the story in any shape or form; print, celluloid or stage. Sadly Miniminx is not popping along with – there’s full frontal nudity – and from what I gather, it’s bits, bobs and bob’s your uncle.

I seem to be living in Soho these days – I had a night off on Friday and headed to Leicester Square for a comedy show and then into China Town for a very late supper.

And tomorrow, I definitely won’t end up back at Gerry’s club in Soho after – it’s a school night…!

  1. Will be a fabulous night. Quite the glitz. I am most jealous, I miss the theatre and fantastic restaurants. Not that we went much when we were living in Britain, but it’s nice to have the option. Now I’ll live vicariously through you. Enjoy it (on my behalf as well as yours!)

  2. Have fun! I used to go there a lot in the dot com days. The MD of my company loved going there and star spotting… I of course was fresh off the boat and didn’t know any of the local celebs. Sure wish I could go now…

Ooh, the Ivy is fab. You’ll have a great time. It’s not that expensive either.

I went to the one near Soho (I think). A friend of mine is a member. Got roaring drunk and no-one cares!

    Have a fab time.

Sounds wonderful. I went for dinner to a Michael Caines restaurant at the weekend. First proper grown up dinner since I had my baby seven months ago! It was so good to be out – I felt like a human being again not just a mummy. The food was so delicious and perfectly presented – miles and miles from the pureeing I do on a daily basis for baby. Please let us know what it was like!
