‘In response to years of Frappucino envy, a Kickstarter campaign is helping London’s canine population to fund a café to call their own.’ Says Mark Watty, who has developed the concept with Piper Skillman. ‘No longer will they be ignored, leashed to a lamp post (or worse yet, confined to a handbag) while their caregivers scoff biscotti and swill skinny lattes. Dogs in the know will be making tracks for Ciao Chow Canine Bakery.’
Discerning pooches will soon be able to choose from a range of treats tailored to all breeds and stages in a dog’s life.
All to be served in an interior reminiscent of a vintage Italian bakery somewhere between Palermo and NYC’s Little Italy with a dash of ‘The Godfather’ and a good helping of ‘Roman Holiday’.
According to research, the path to happiness is owning a pet so it’s no wonder that our pampering them is fast becoming a national past time (PFMA)*. With over 8m* pet dogs in the UK, Euromonitor International predicts that sales of dog treats will be worth around £582 million by the end of this 2017.
The treats are geared towards a dog’s taste preferences, informed by nutritional benefits and common allergies.
