The life and times of a happy go lucky blogger in London
The Gallery: Sunshine
Categories: blogging

This is my entry for the Gallery this week and the theme is sunshine. We were at Food Blogger Connect on Sunday at Battersea Arts Centre on Lavender Hill. It was such a hot morning that it didn’t feel like we were in England as we walked from Clapham Junction.

Arriving at the venue quite early, we had a bit of spare time before I had to do my presentation. The Victorian building is the epitome of shabby chic. Built to serve the locale as the Town Hall, it’s been dedicated to the arts since the 1980s. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore on several levels so it was interesting to have a look around. We found this empty room, which was stripped bare and the sunlight flooded in to the cool space as the streets outside began to emit a haze from the beating sun.

The stool looked very inviting so my daughter sat down, the aspect of the room changed completely.

Funnily enough, these are instagram photos and part of my presentation was about dumping the iPhone and getting back to using DSLRs for quality images; typically, I had actually forgotten to pick up my Canon on the way out of the house. While I like the results of the photos, they’re just not the quality I’d really want, just snaps, but I still managed to capture something so it’s not all bad.

  5. I love the quality of light in these ‘snaps’ – it’s quite dreamy and ethereal. Especially the one of your daughter gazing out the window. #TheGallery

Thanks Sara – it was quite an unusual morning, I think the age of the building had something to do with it too, will pop over and see yours x
